Who We Are
KAPAB is a civic education and community development platform built for the people of Liancourt and the broader Haitian diaspora. Our name means 'capable' in Haitian Creole — because we believe every community has the knowledge, talent, and will to shape its own future.
We document the commune of Liancourt across six pillars — Education, Sports, Farming, Entertainment, Business, and Security — and maintain a public registry of development projects so that every investment in the commune is visible, trackable, and accountable.
The Commune of Liancourt
Liancourt is a commune in the Artibonite department of Haiti, situated in one of the country's most agriculturally productive regions. The commune is divided into 52 rural sections, each with its own distinct character, leadership, and community life.
The Artibonite Valley surrounding Liancourt is the breadbasket of Haiti — home to rice paddies, sugarcane fields, and small-scale farming operations that feed families across the country. Agriculture is not just an economic activity here; it is a way of life passed down through generations.
Despite its agricultural wealth, Liancourt faces real challenges: limited access to quality education, inadequate infrastructure, and the ongoing need for investment in health and civic services. KAPAB exists to make those challenges visible — and to connect the people who can help solve them.
What We Do
Document the Commune
We build detailed community profiles for each of Liancourt's 52 rural sections — tracking schools, sport clubs, churches, farming production, businesses, and civil society members.
Track Development Projects
Our public project registry makes every development initiative in the commune visible — who is funding it, what phase it is in, and what results it has produced.
Connect the Diaspora
Haitians living abroad are among the most powerful forces for development back home. KAPAB gives the diaspora a direct channel to invest in, sponsor, and monitor projects in Liancourt.
